The 2025 China International Bicycle Exhibition concluded in Shanghai, with electric road bikes becoming the biggest highlight of the event. Giant, LYVA, and DAHON, among other brands, launched a series of technologically innovative products, featuring comprehensive upgrades from lightweight frames to AI intelligent systems. On-site inquiries increased by 120% year-on-year, becoming a core driver of industry growth.
The Giant Defy Advanced E+ Elite 0 attracted attention with its 12.5kg lightweight carbon fiber frame. Equipped with an EnergyPak Smart 400 battery, it achieves a range of over 100km. The SyncDrive Move Plus motor, combined with a wireless shifting system, provides a light and agile ride on flat roads, similar to traditional road bikes, and smooth, seamless assistance when climbing hills.
The LYVA G01-Sport emphasizes intelligent breakthroughs, using Toray T700 carbon fiber material, weighing only 18.5kg, and pioneering an AI fitness coach system. By collecting 23 types of riding data from eight sensors across three categories, the AI algorithm dynamically adjusts the assist ratio, achieving a 1:3 assist ratio on a 15° steep incline. It switches to economy mode on flat roads and can even generate personalized training programs, making the electric road bike suitable for both commuting and fitness.
Former professional cyclist Hessey Koberk tested the VAPOR electric road bike, completing 12 climbs up Longjing Mountain in Hangzhou, covering 59km with a stable heart rate within the aerobic zone. Each climb took only 6-7 minutes. Starting at 25,900 yuan, this model offers over 300 customization options, breaking down the price barrier of high-end products.
The DAHON Vélodon carbon fiber road bike utilizes "Fast Lane" technology, increasing frame rigidity by 15%-25% while keeping the overall weight around 11kg. It balances racing performance with commuting needs. The Bulgarian Ambassador to China personally test-rode the bike and gave it high praise.
Bicycle industry analysts point out that by 2025, electric road bikes will exhibit three major trends: widespread use of lightweight materials, standard intelligent sensing features, and segmented design based on specific scenarios. Mid-range products priced between 15,000 and 40,000 yuan will account for 72% of dealer orders, becoming the market mainstream. Electric road bikes are moving from the professional market to the general public, propelling cycling into a new era of "high efficiency and energy saving + scientific intelligence."
